A Sense of Place, the newest series of work by the printmakers of
Northern Kentucky University's Print Club is currently showing though February 1, 2008 at
Thomas More College's Eva G. Farris Gallery.

Each of the various printmakers used techniques ranging from
intaglio to
serigraphy and
collography. There is both black and white, and multiple color work exploring the various meanings, to each artist, of a 'sense of place'. The artists worked in the relatively small size of 5x5 inch image area, framed 12x12 inches to further explore this intimate subject. Styles are as varied as the artists behind the works.
Statement: “A Sense of Place”
The Northern Kentucky University Print Club is comprised of alumni and students who have developed a collegial relationship over many years of working together with teachers Andrea Knarr and Heidi Endres. We represent a tight-knit and happy mix of diverse tastes, talents and ages that energizes us to continue creating hand-printed images like the ones represented in this show. The group’s mission is to keep our love of printmaking alive, to stay connected as a group and to share the fruits of our efforts with the community at large by mounting regular exhibitions of our work.
“A Sense of Place” has meant something different to each of us. Some of us chose to depict places, internal or external, that elicit a personal and emotional response, and others chose to depict a more abstracted concept of what “place” means to them. All of the images in this show are printed by hand by the artist.

Mary Farrell has a show going on @ The Art Spirit Gallery of Fine Art 12 October 2007 through 03 November 2007. The show is called Intimation and is made up of printmaking & painting, according to the website. 
Secret ArtWorks is an annual fundraiser for ArtWorks. Local, national and internationally acclaimed artists are invited to create 5”x7” Secret Works of Art. The secret is the identity of each artist, which remains unknown until the work of art is bought and the signature is revealed on the back. 100% of the proceeds from Secret ArtWorks support ArtWorks programming for Apprentice and Professional Artists involved in ArtWorks.
I just ordered from Dolphin Papers in Indianapolis. I ordered over the phone, and they were very nice there. They also rolled the paper and packaged it very well, so that there was no crazy oversize shipping charge. It arrived in pristine condition, very fast.
